Reidsville
James “Poppy” Willis , age 79, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital in Savannah surrounded by his family. The Cedar Crossing native had lived in Reidsville most of his life. He retired from Cannoochee Electric Membership Corporation. James was a devoted grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and watching the History Channel . He was a member of Connection Point Ministries. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Louise Willis; son, Carl Willis; brothers, Carlton and David Willis and sister, Melba Langston.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eileen Willis of Reidsville; a daughter, Teresa Hutcheson of Reidsville; daughter-in-law, Dianne Willis of Reidsville; siblings, Howard (Libby) Willis of Reidsville ,Curtis (Hilda) Willis of Gray, Geraldine Davis of Lyons, Arley Bo Willis, Charles “Humpy” Willis, Ronnie (Betty) Willis, and Ricky (Cindy) Willis all of Reidsville; nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at the funeral Home beginning at 6:00pm on Monday. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00pm Tuesday, April 14, 2015 in the chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory with the Reverends Ron Clark and John Price officiating. Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Spikes, Donald Spikes, Terry Davis, Chris Davis, Rob Hutcheson, Lee Willis, and Ronney Willis.
