Reidsville,
James “Catfish” Ulmer, age 63, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah. He was born in Oak Park and had lived in Reidsville most of his life. Catfish was a truck driver for many years and had retired from Claxton Poultry. He loved fishing, hunting, and mechanic work. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dewey H. Ulmer, Jr. and Grace Tidwell; brother, Dewey Ulmer, III and sisters, Peggy Ulmer and Angela Tidwell.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sharon Ulmer of Reidsville; children, Matthew (Crystal) Ulmer of Cobbtown, Thomas Ulmer and Scott Ulmer both of Reidsville; siblings, Betty (Ronnie) Willis, John W. Ulmer, Ricky Ulmer all of Reidsville, Wayne Ulmer of Sylvania, Joseph Ulmer of Cobbtown, Michael Tidwell of Savannah and Billy Tidwell of Mt. Vernon; nine grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family is giving Catfish friends an opportunity to view on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home. Graveside funeral service will be conducted 11:00am Thursday from the Little Flock Church Cemetery with Rev. Lelon Jeffers officiating.
