James "Jake" L Williams

James “Jake” L. Williams died April 29th, 2016 at Spanish Oaks Retreat in Savannah where he had lived for the past 4 years.  Mr. Williams was born in Reidsville but spent the majority of his life in Savannah and later years in Ellabell, Ga. While living in Savannah he owned and operated Jake Williams Motors and Jake Williams Rentals. After moving to Ellabell he moved his rental business to Reidsville for a number of years. After serving in the United States Army, his passion in life became real estate and he inspired many others to invest in rental properties. When he was not working he enjoyed fishing and gardening.  Mr. Williams also enjoyed traveling and antique shopping with his longtime friend Ms. Emilee Miles of Reidsville.  He is preceded in death by his mother Evelyn Kennedy Bitticks of Savannah; his father James Linton Williams of Reidsville; his daughter Patricia Clayton Rushlow of Savannah; a son James R. Williams of Savannah.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda Carter King of Savannah; his son Robert G. Williams of Savannah; grandchildren Michael A. Clayton of Kingsport, TN; John H. (Sandy) Carter of Cumming, Ga; Jeffrey L. Carter of Alpharetta, Ga; and great-grandchildren Mason and Alexis Carter of Cumming, Ga.

Visitation will be held at Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory in Reidsville on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 11 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday May 4, 2016, with the Rev. Marc Foster officiating.  Interment will follow at the W.H. Kennedy Cemetery in Reidsville with military honors.

The family requests that remembrances be made to: Rome Primitive Baptist Church 120 Lloyd Street, Reidsville, Ga 30453.
