Mr. James E. “JE” Spikes age 73, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family and under the care of Affinis Hospice. The Reidsville native had lived in Tattnall County all of his life. He was an US Navy Veteran and retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections with thirty plus years of service. In his spare time, he loved to go fishing. Mr. Spikes is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Trudie Spikes.
He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Joy and Lew Graham of Collins; mother of his daughter, Martha Spikes of Reidsville; brothers and sisters in law, Roy “Boobie” and Annette Spikes of Reidsville, Glen and Pat Spikes of Glennville; sisters and brothers in law, Gloria Dean Spikes of Reidsville, Margaret Ann and Jerry Bruce Sanders of Collins, and Rita and Gary Waher of Collins; grandchildren, Josie and Levi Graham; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00pm on Saturday, August 2, 2014 from the Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory with the funeral services to follow at 2:00pm with the Pastor Daniel Caraway officiating. Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
