James "Lowell" Helmuth

Mr. James “Lowell” Helmuth, age 83, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the Pleasant View Nursing Center in Metter.  He was born in the Hillview Community on November 13, 1933 to Ben Levy and Effie Callaway Helmuth and lived there most of his life.  He retired from Hercules as a heavy equipment operator and loved to go fishing and hunting.  When able he would attend Anderson Primitive Baptist Church.

He is survived by his companion, Mrs. Martha Johnson; daughters, Denise (Charlie) Helmuth Young and Donna (Allen) Helmuth Carnes all of the Hillview Community; sisters, Anita Helmuth Paden of Mobile, AL and LaTrelle Helmuth Smoak of Manning, SC; sister-in-law, Jackie Helmuth of Riceboro; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private.
