Oak Park,
James Thomas “Tommy” Champion , age 58, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Emanuel County Medical Center in Swainsboro. The Folkston native had lived in Tattnall County many years before moving to Emanuel County in 1984. He was a self-employed painter. Tommy loved to play cards and go fishing. His main love was spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Reidsville Baptist Church and is preceded in death by his father, James David Champion; wife, Robin Dees Champion; sister, Maryann Prescott.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Lynn Slater of Oak Park; fiancé’, Windy Edenfield of Oak Park; sons, Brandon (Lindsey) Champion of Tallahassee, FL and Bryan (Jeni) Champion of Odum; sister, Linda (Jerry) Bradley of Reidsville; grandchildren, Jaxon Williams, Lyla Champion and Cal Champion; numerous other relatives also survive.
Memorial Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Services and Crematory. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Reidsville City Cemetery.
