Jean (Stubbs) Deal

Ms. Jean S. Deal, age 80, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia.  The Tattnall County native had lived in Reidsville most of her life.  She had worked for Stewart’s IGA and was co owner of Reidsville Cleaners before she became a Nanny for Torie and Lucas Canady and Chase Rhoden.  Ms. Jean was a faithful member of Reidsville Baptist Church and the Solo and Friends Sunday School Class.  She was preceded in death by her parents, M.  Luther and Geneva W.  Stubbs; husband, Aubrey M. Deal; and several siblings.

She is survived by her sisters, Nadine Anderson of Reidsville and Montez Todd of Glennville; brothers, Henry (Pat) Stubbs of Nixa, MO and Herman Stubbs of Reidsville; aunt, Bernie W. Wilson of Glennville; adopted children, Torie Hunter and Lucas Canady both of Baxley and Russ, Dawn and Chase Rhoden of Reidsville; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00pm on Friday from the Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory.  Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Saturday, January 24, 2015 from the Reidsville Baptist Church with the Reverends Steve Miller and Mark Sweat officiating.  Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Canady, Lucus Canady, Joe Durrence, Norm Seibert, Donald Durrence, and Jasper Phillips.
