Jerry David Bradley, age 76, of McDonough, Georgia passed away on December 9, 2024. He was born to Lessie and Enoch Bradley in Reidsville, Georgia. Waiting excitedly at home for the birth of the "baby of the family" were his three siblings, Levi John (L.J.) and Retha Spivey and Jesse Bradley. Growing up on a family farm instilled in him the value of hard work that served him well throughout his life. These values shaped his life of hard work with his older brother, LJ Spivey, on the cattle farm. As LJ became an active member and leader in the National Limousine Cattleman's Association, Jerry became his right hand man as a breeder and caretaker of the valuable cattle. LJ described him as the best artificial cattle breeder in the country and he was recognized by cattlemen as far as North Dakota for his work with cattle breeding. But God gave Jerry other strengths as well. He was a man of deep faith and was down to earth and humble. He was friendly, and patient, and always a man of his word. Perhaps his greatest gift was his ability to love his family and friends intensely through thick and thin and to remain faithful to others throughout his life. There was also a fun side of Jerry and he could make you laugh with him. His places to "party" may have been a little different than some, but they suited him well. If you wanted to find him on a Friday night, you could find him at the Junk and Chicken Sale. If he wasn't buying something, he was giving others a run for their money.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Enoch and Lessie Bradley, his sister, Retha Spivey Standard, and his brother, Levi John (L.J.) Spivey.
He loved his family deeply and is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Champion Bradley, his two daughters, Hope (Mark)Bradley Jackson and Joy Bradley. He was the proud grandfather of Katelyn Pruitt, Madison Pruitt, Cody (Emily) Jackson, Mason (Makayla) Jackson, Noah Jackson, and Riley Jackson. The grandchildren affectionately called him "Peanut." He is also survived by his brother, Jesse (Marsha) Bradley. Many cousins, nieces and nephews remember Jerry with love and smiles.
Jerry's health declined over the years as he endured several forms of cancer, but he was a fighter to the end. He finally told his wife , children and brother that he was ready to go home. He knew God was holding a special place for him and it was time. It was often said of Jerry, "If you know him, you love him." Well, those who were blessed to know him, did love him, and now will hold tight to his memory.
