Mr. Jerry Allen Harvey, age 79, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family and under the compassionate care of GHC Hospice. The Toombs County native was born in Lyons on February 19, 1943, to James L and Myrle Mixon Harvey. Most of his life was spent in and around Tattnall and Evans Counties. He and his wife, Faye, owned and operated a Cotton States Insurance franchise for many years in both Claxton and Glennville before their retirement. Dedicated to his clients, he was well known for his thoroughness and attention to detail. Despite the long hours he had to work as a business owner, his commitment to his family was paramount. There was never any question about his love for them, expressed through his kind and caring ways with them. Often the family would enjoy fishing and camping trips together, just to get away. In his free time, he was able to pursue additional hobbies which included woodworking and cabinetry. He was a very talented crafter and even invented his own automatic fish scaler. A man who adored his wife, doted on his kids, and was devout in faith, he will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Larry Harvey; and a sister, Nancy Haley.
Left to cherish a lifetime of memories made are his wife of 60 years, Faye B. Harvey; three daughters, Tonia H. Fletcher, Tammy D. Harvey, and Tina H. Wells; a grandson, Corey Wells; a sister, Vivian (Howard) Wright; special friend, Jessica Cauley; several other relatives and friends also survive.
