Mr. Jerry Powell, age 68, passed away Friday, August 28, 2020 at his residence.  He was born August 26, 1952 in Collins to Arthur and Myrtle Oliver Powell.  Mr. Jerry was retired from Tattnall County Board of Commissioners and loved to tinker on vehicles and lawn mowers.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Veila Greer Powell of Collins; son and daughter in law, Justin and Kellie Powell of Reidsville; siblings, Monte Powell of Lyons, Shirley Powell of Florida, Eddie Powell, Sudie Powell and Angie (Terrell) Ambrose all of Collins; grandchildren, Samantha Ann Powell, Leland Joseph Powell, Tabitha Nicole Powell and Hunter Michael Powell; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from the hours of 6:00pm and 8:00pm on Saturday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Sunday, August 30, 2020 from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with the Rev. Jim Rogers and Mr. Walter Driggers officiating.  Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Walter Driggers, Bo Ryals, Kyle Driggers, Dan Eason, Cleon Oliver, and Clint Oliver.
