Jewell (Rewis) Royal

Mrs. Jewell R. Royal , age 78, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her family. The Tattnall county native had lived in Collins most of her life. She was a homemaker and former seamstress.  Jewell was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Collins, and attended South Newington Church. Jewell loved to fish, work in the garden and travel with her husband. Jewell is preceded in death by her parents ,Hershel and Estell Rewis and a son William Jack Sikes.

Survivors include her husband, Talmadge Royal, whom she married in March of 2016, one son Robert Sikes of Claxton, six daughters, Marry Floye Barrow of Claxton, Carol Sue Kersey of Collins, Cynthia Sikes of Claxton, Dorothy Brooks of Folkston, Judy Fulton of Nevils, and Kathleen Scanlon of Arizona. Two Brothers, William Herschel Rewis of Utah and Howard Rewis of Collins.Three sisters, Rowena Strickland of Bellville, Gertrude Knight of Jesup and Eva Mae Manson of Newberry, South Carolina. Eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will begin at 5o’clock p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at the funeral home with a memorial service to immediately follow beginning at 6 o’clock p.m. with Reverend Jim Rodgers officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
