Vidalia GA,
Jim Allen Price Sr., age 83, passed away on February 1, 2017 after a brief illness. The Toombs County native lived the majority of his life in Toombs County. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict where he was a medical technician in neuropsychology. After returning home, he began his 40 year career working as a heavy equipment operator; ultimately retiring from McLendon Enterprises. After retirement, Jim devoted many hours to his favorite hobbies; fishing, gardening, and drinking coffee. No matter the time of day, he was sure to have a pot of coffee at the ready! He was a man that loved deeply and was loved by many. Home and family were always his priorities. His children remember their father growing up as a man’s man, one whom always smelled like Old Spice, leather, and money. To say that he will be sorely missed is an understatement. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rissie Price, Sr. and Mattie Mae Price Slocum; 2 brothers, Rissie Price Jr. and Johnny Slocum; 3 sisters, Lena Price Burns, Vera Mae Price, and Eileen Slocum Williams; and 2 grandsons, Brandon Guthrie and Cayden Price.
Left to carry on his memory are his wife, Bonnie Price of Vidalia; 4 daughters, Cathy Meade of Lyons, Tammy (Stacey) Wilds of Reidsville, Bonnie Jean (Scott Carr) Price of Vidalia, Alison (E.J.) Gilder of Alamo; 1 son, Jimmy Allen (Millie) Price Jr of Vidalia; 7 grandchildren, Blake Collins of Alma, Brock Guthrie of Reidsville, Alyssa Mosley of Macon, Abigail Mosley of Vidalia, Caitlin Price of Milner, Maddie Price, and Erin Price of Vidalia; a great grandson, Dylan Collins of Metter; a sister, Ethel Smith of Statesboro; other relatives and friends also survive.
