Collins,
Jimmy Ray Mosley, age 58, passed away Tuesday February 23, 2021 at the Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, GA. Jimmy was born in Lyons on February 27, 1962 to Jesse Lee and Mary Wilma Kight Mosley. He was reared in the Ponderosa Community and moved to Collins in 1986. From an early age he was known to be the “life of the party”. Undoubtedly, this personality is what led him to being a well-known local entertainer. He was incredibly talented playing the guitar and singing. Later in life, he would be seen at area churches and other events singing with his girls. Many of the songs he would sing; he would write! Perhaps one of his greatest joys in life was sharing music and performance with his family. Although music was a passion, his primary vocation was with the Georgia Department of Corrections. Throughout everything in his life, Jimmy could be counted on to lend a word of advice or make you laugh if you were having a bad day. In everything he did, the love of his Lord and Savior could be seen in his efforts and kindness. He served God at Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church where he was a longtime member. A kind and gentle soul, compassionate and caring person, and a dedicated and devoted family man; Jimmy will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jewell Mosley.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Teresa Mulling Mosley of Collins; daughters, Lindsay (Chris) Riner of Lyons and Courtney Mosley of Reidsville; siblings, Robert (Wanda) Mosley of Claxton, Evelyn (Larry) Nobles of Washington, GA, David (Sam) Mosley of Florida, Gloria Dismuke of Vidalia, Diane Hattaway of Douglas, and Edna O'Neal of Vidalia; his grandchildren that he loved with all of his heart, Raelyn, Jeremiah, Colton, and Cassie; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from the hours of 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 4:00pm Friday, February 26, 2021 at the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with Elder Steve Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
