Dublin
Joan Therese Cournoyer fell asleep in death on July 20, 2020. She was a true proper lady in every sense of the word. She came into this world in February, 1931 born to Don and Betty Crowley in Springfield, Mass. She loved her family, dances, music, her Irish heritage and working. Some of the jobs she was particularly proud of were Mass. Mutual, U.S. Envelope/Westvaco, PTR-Precision Technologies, and University of Central Florida. She had responsible positions and won awards for her dedicated service. She was naturally shy, but learned along the way how to make people feel special around her. She graduated Cathedral High School in Springfield, then married and moved to Enfield, CT where she raised her family. She moved to Oviedo, FL to be near family and resided there for many years. She lived her last three years in Dublin, GA. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Gerry Cournoyer.
She leaves to mourn, her sons, Edward (Jill) Provencher of Oviedo, FL, Stephen of Vernon, CT and Kevin Provencher of Sanford, FL; a daughter, Jennifer (Mike) McLaughlin of Dublin, GA; eight grandchildren, Eddie Provencher, Stephanie (Matthew) Boyette, Alissa Jacques, David Jacques, Michelle Provencher (Ryan Getwright), Jessica (Jesse) Sword, Margot Provencher and Marc Provencher; and three great-grandchildren, Gavin and Ellie Boyette and Benjamin Sword. She also leaves, her brother, Ray (Helen) Crowley and sister, Maureen (Richard) Sampson along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a lifelong friend Doris Krynicki of West Springfield, MA.
Memorial service will take place at the convenience of the family.
Low Country Cremation and Burial is serving the Cournoyer family.
