With hearts full of love and sorrow, we announce the passing of JoAnn Hall, who departed this life in the early hours of March 4, 2025, at 1:44 a.m. She was born on January 14, 1972, to the late Josephine Moody and the late Johnny Frank Brown.
JoAnn attended high school but made the selfless decision to leave early in order to support her family. Despite life’s challenges, she remained steadfast in her faith, accepting Christ and being baptized at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints by Bishop Logan Cowart. She was an active and devoted member of her church community.
Her career was one of dedication and service. From 1998 to 2008, she was employed at Claxton Poultry Farms, and from 2008 to 2012, she worked in home health care. Unfortunately, her career was cut short when she was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus, leading to years of courageous battles with illness and frequent hospital stays.
JoAnn was a woman of kindness, patience, and joy—always willing to lend a helping hand and share laughter with those around her. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine Moody and Johnny Frank Brown; her sister, Mary Ann Hall; her brothers, Clarence Hall, Anthony James, and Dan Conner, Jr.; her aunts, Mildred Powell, Ella Mae McCloud, Gertie Appleby, Mary Ann Brewton, Edna Mae McKever, and Ella Mae McCloud; her uncle, Paul Brown; her nieces, Keyonna Hall and Brenda Hall; her nephew, Chavez Brown; and her great-niece, Cha’veah Brown.
Left to cherish her memory are her four beloved children, Phillip Hall, Zavion Sharpe, Gabriel Sharpe, and Taliea Thomas; her adored grandchildren, Gabriel Sharpe, Jr., Galin La’Gabe Sharpe, Ashtyn Elijah Sharpe, Payton Mariah Sharpe, Bryson Sakeri Corouthers, Paisley Jo’Annah Thomas, Journie Ah’nyah Mobley, Josiah Zyaire Brown, and Zyiare Noel Thomas; her brothers, Carl James, James Hall, and Raymond Hall; her sisters, Patricia Ann Williams, Charlotte Hall, Johnnie Mae (Don) Cooper, and Erica Moody; her sister-in-law, Carolyn Conner; her loving aunts, Bertha Clayton and Willie Jane McCray; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
Though JoAnn’s physical presence is no longer with us, her love, strength, and laughter will live on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her.
