Obituary

Joel Allen Sikes , age 64 passed away Saturday,

October 30, 2010 at East Georgia Regional Medical

Center in Statesboro. The Tattnall County native had

lived in Collins most of his life. He was a 1964

Reidsville High School Graduate, a former Reidsville

Police officer, carpenter and a heavy equipment operator. He loved to read and

spend time with his nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in

death by his parents, Peyton and Gladys Sikes.

He is survived by his b rother and sister-in-law, Wendell and Vicki Sikes of Collins.

Sister, Gail Sikes of Hinesville. Nephews, James Allen Sikes, John and Oliver Collins

Nieces, Reba Mangrum and Tiffany Leigh Smith. Great nieces and nephews, Skylor

Lau, Caleb Smith, Dylanne Lau and Ava Leanna Smith also survives.

Visitation and Funeral Services

Visitation will begin at 6:00pm Monday from the Reidsville Chapel.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Tuesday, November 2, 2010

from the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Reverend David Moxley officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jasper Phillips, Wendy Phillips, Don “Slick” Sikes, Bryan Jarriel,

Oliver Collins, Danny Smith, John Jarriel and Trinity Barnard

Honorary pallbearers will be the Reidsville High School Class of 1964, Louis Cowart,

Shane Berry Hill, Timmy Smith, Louis Eason, Donald Akins, Rodney Mulling, Carl Preslar,

Timmy Blocker and Ronnie McCall

Preferred Memorials and Donations

Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association
