Cobbtown
Joey “BoBo” Ulmer, age 51, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Burke County Hospital in Waynesboro from an apparent heart attack. He was born October 20, 1970 in Savannah to Dewey, Jr. and Ester Grace Lynn Ulmer and had lived in Tattnall County most of his life. He graduated from Calvary Day School in 1989 before serving in the United States Army. He was employed with Local Union 474 as an Operating Engineer. Joey enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was of the Baptist faith and is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Dewey Ulmer III, Peggy L. Ulmer, James Ulmer, Betty Willis and Angela Heather Tidwell.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Martha Lively Ulmer of Cobbtown; children, Chris Collins, Mindy Collins (Jake Mosley) and Stephanie Coker (Sandy Phillips) all of Cobbtown; siblings, Ricky (Mildred) Ulmer of Reidsville, Johnny Ulmer of Reidsville, Wayne Ulmer of Guyton, Lee Tidwell of Guyton, Billy (Jennifer) Tidwell of Montgomery County, and Terry Lee Tootle of Reidsville; 7 grandchildren; his canine companion, Pearl; his brothers and sisters at Plant Vogtle; in laws, Lanette (Ira) Turner of Cobbtown, Tommy (Marnie) Lively of Lawrenceville, Judy Lively, Ellis (Wanda) Lively and Brenda Lively all of Cobbtown; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00am on Friday, May 27, 2022 from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with the funeral services to follow at noon with Rev. Leland Jeffers officiating. Interment will be private.
