John “Jack” Oliver Cram died on February 10, 2017 at this home on Hilton Head Island, SC with family Jeanette, Allison Tilton ,Michael Tilton and his fiancée’ Sharon Leppard by his side. He had been under the care of Hospice Care of the Low Country for 5 days. Jack was born in Philadelphia July 17, 1929. He was preceded in death by his parents John. J. and Olivia O. Cram.
He was President of Concord Chemical Co. and Seacord Chemical until his retirement in 2002.He was past President of the Philadelphia Chemical Club and past Commodore of Great Oak Yacht Club. Jack was known for his wonderful smile, laugh, generosity, sense of humor and his presence. He never spoke ill of anyone, Ever! He loved his family, sailing, cruising, telling happy stories, jokes and Hilton Head Island.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jeanette M. Cram; sons, John J. Cram, David O. Cram; daughter, Cheryl Shreeves; stepchildren, Allison Tilton, Michael Tilton and Sharon Leppard; 6 grandchildren, several great- grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of his wonderful life and their marriage at their home on April 25, 2017, 22 Wing Shell Lane, Hilton Head Island. Please call for the time and to obtain a gate pass.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Treat the Troops a charity, founded by Jeanette Cram in support of deployed military which from the beginning in 1990 Jack always supported, both financially and in his deeds.
Low Country Cremation and Burial is serving the Cram family.
