John Edward Harrison, III

John Edward Harrison III, 79, passed away on Tuesday, August 6,2024 at Glenvue Health and Rehabilitation in Glennville GA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca Wheeler Harrison at the age of 12 and was raised by his predeceased grandparents, Judge Lewis and Mae Wheeler. He attended Darien schools. He worked for the Gulf Oil Company as a deliverer and was a gas station attendant at the downtown Darien Gulf Station many years ago. He worked at the Glynn Iron and Steel Recycling for many years, a previous caretaker at the Eastside Fishing Club and was a truck driver for many different trucking companies delivering all over the United States. His favorite pastimes was bream fishing, reading, putting puzzles together & visiting with family and friends. 

He is survived by his 5 children, Debbie Strickland, John Edward Harrison, IV (Kem),Charles Harrison (Wendy), Jasson Boss (Lisa) all of Darien. Derek Harrison (Dallas) of Jesup, GA; 5 grandchildren,5 great-grandchildren and many more extended family whom he called as his own.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at The Cornerstone Church in Darien with Pastor Bill Brown officiating. Family will visit with friends and extended family 30 minutes prior to the service.
