Johnnie Marvin Liles, Sr.

Johnnie M. Liles, Sr., went to be with The Lord Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Hospice of the Golden Isles. Mr. Liles was born in Raleigh, NC, to Zebulon and Cottie Jackson Liles, December 10, 1933. He was a graduate of Fayetteville High School and attended North Carolina State University. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Following in his father’s legacy, he spent most of his life in the retail shoe business and was owner and operator of Isenberg Shoe Store in Brunswick, after the retirement of Joe and Edith Isenberg. He was a member of St. Simons Community Church.
Survivors include his wife, Vera Sellers Liles, and sons, Johnnie M. Liles, Jr., (Sandi); Timmy Liles (Felicia). Step-son, Steve Brewer (Susan), step-daughter, Sharon Brewer Hammer (Charles). All of Brunswick. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Taylor, Jordan, Tori, and Luke Liles and several step-grandchildren. A brother, Jack Liles, (Patsy) of Atlanta; a sister, Anita Brown (Woodrow) of Raleigh, NC and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, sister Peggy, and granddaughter, Tara.
A private memorial service for the immediate family will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles,1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525.
