Mrs. Johnnie Lee Tillman Roberts, age 80, a lifelong resident of Glennville peacefully went home to be with our Lord on July 10, 2015. Mrs. Johnnie accepted Christ at an early age and worshiped at First African Baptist Church in Glennville, Georgia. She was a stay at home mother, a dedicated wife, a caring mother, and a loving grandmother and great grandmother. She will always be remembered for her unconditional love and devoted caring spirit. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph W. Roberts, Sr., and her parents, Ruby Brown Tillman Martin and Leelean Tillman .
Mrs. Johnnie is survived by her children, Shirley E. Smith of Glennville; Dorothy M. Hall of Atlanta, Polly A. Gaskins (Jimmy) of Norfolk, Va., Paulette Colman (Franklin) of Montgomery, Al., Johnnie M. Jordan of Glennville, Joseph W. Roberts Jr. of Statesboro; Gladys Sheila Joyce of Reidsville, Ernest Roberts (Sandra) of Charleston S.C., Vinesta Roberts (Terry) of Glennville, and Michael N. Roberts(Denise) of Griffin; siblings, Mary Lee James(Rev. James, Decd), Yvonne T. Duncan(Rev. Duncan), Janie Berry(Thomas Berry, Decd), Leon Tillman(Caroline)and Helen Williams (Alga). Twenty one grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and multitude of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from Low Country Cremation Services and Burial. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Wednesday, July 15, 2015 from The First African Baptist Church in Glennville with Rev. Ricky Arthur officiating. Interment will follow in the Glennville City Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service to lie in state.
