Reidsville GA
Joseph “Joe” Keith Bagdonas, age 65, passed away peacefully at Community Hospice inpatient center in Vidalia on July 18, 2018. The native of Oceanside, CA moved to Illinois at an early age and lived there for much of his adult life. To say he lived an exciting life would be an understatement. Joe was an international press photographer. His career sent him traveling to exotic, and oftentimes dangerous locations in pursuit of his art and passion. Later in life, he embarked on his 2nd career in the security industry. As a designer of security systems, he helped to ensure the safety of countless people. Throughout his life though, he always loved cats. Feline causes, rescues, and adoption of cats were his real passion. After retirement, he headed south. That is when he stopped in Reidsville. During a brief stopover in the area, he immediately made several friends. Friendship city lived up to its reputation and this is where he decided to spend the remainder of his life. He will be sorely missed by all who met him.
Joe leaves behind a host of friends he has met along this journey called life, including his hospice family who so lovingly adopted him and cared for his every need as the days grew shorter. Coming from a very small family who passed away at an early age, Joe truly understood the value of friendship.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Friday July 20, 2018 at 2:00 at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Joe’s wishes were for memorial donations in his name be made to Alley Cat Rescues at www.saveacat.org
