Sergeant Major Joe Dickey, Georgia National Guard, age 52, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 6, 2014. The Colorado native had lived in Hinesville most of his life moving to Tattnall County in 2009. For his professional career he was maintenance supervisor with MATES at Fort Stewart. What little time remained in the day, he loved tending his pecan farm, playing golf, hunting, and fishing.
