Joyce Sharpe

Low Country Cremation and Burial announces the death and funeral services for Ms. Joyce Sharpe of Reidsville that passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at her residence.  The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00am on Monday, June 12, 2023 with the funeral services to follow at noon from the Pine Grove Baptist Church in Reidsville with Reverend Jeffery Barnard officiating.  Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Joyce was born to the late William Foy and Gladys Rogers Sharpe, and she graduated from Reidsville High School in 1965. Her roots run deep in the community, and she was cherished by her loved ones and neighbors.  Joyce will be remembered for her strong work ethic, which she displayed from an early age. At just 16 years old, she began working for Mr. Wilton Hill at the School Bus Association. Following Mr. Wilton's passing, she joined his son, Jack Hill's team and remained a valued employee, friend, and counselor until his death. Ms. Sharpe's loyalty and dedication were defining qualities that shaped her character.  The backbone of everything in her life; her faith was an integral part of her character and her involvement in Pine Grove Baptist Church was a testament to her unwavering commitment. As the Church Secretary for 15 years, Ms. Joyce Sharpe's tireless efforts and selfless service were greatly appreciated by her church family. Known for her punctuality, she would often be the first to arrive and the last to leave, leaving an indelible mark on the church community.

Beyond her work and church commitments, Ms. Joyce Sharpe found solace in various activities. Tending to her yard, casting a line fishing, and immersing herself in the pages of a good book were among her favored pastimes. She also possessed a love for shopping and could easily spend half a day exploring the aisles of Walmart. Quick-witted and armed with a sharp sense of humor, she had a clever comeback for any remark directed her way, endearing her to all who knew her.  The loss of Ms. Joyce leaves a void in the lives of her family, friends, and the community as a whole.  Her genuine warmth, unwavering dedication, and infectious sense of humor endeared her to all who had the privilege of crossing her path. She will be remembered as a pillar of strength, a compassionate soul, and a source of laughter during both joyous and challenging times.

She is survived by her brother, Roger Sharpe of Reidsville; nephew, Jessie (Dena) Sharpe of Reidsville and Mikki (Ronnie) Kilgore of Toombs County; several great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Kilgore, Dakota Kilgore, Cody Dotson, Jamie Burton, Blake Phillips, and Brandon Phillips.
