Judy (Gay) Sharpe

January 6, 1952 — August 22, 2021

Collins

Collins,

Judy Gay Sharpe was welcomed into the arms of Jesus and her husband, Donald Sharpe, Sunday August 22, 2021 just in time for Sunday dinner prepared by her mother, Lavern Worth and father, Larston Gay.  Judy was surrounded by loved ones in her home when she left to be with her Jesus who she gave praise to daily throughout her battle with Leukemia.  Make no mistake, Judy WON!

Judy was known as “Mema Judy” and “The Princess”.  She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren more than the number of stars in the sky.  She enjoyed Sunday dinners, shopping a good sale, collecting antiques, porch talk with her neighbors. Filet of fish sandwich, her numerous “friends” in Collins, and was famous for her Christmas Day Celebrations!

Judy would never be found without her snacks. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren would go “shopping” at her house leaving with a bag full of her beloved snacks.

She left behind her family to carry on her love, daughter, Jennifer “JJ” Collins and favorite son-in-law, Duncan Davis, Danielle Sharpe (John) Thigpen and son, Thomas (Holly) Collins; grandchildren, Heather Jackson, Thomas Collins IV, Kayla Davis, Jacob Kite , Hunter Johnson, Login, Jordan, and Hunter Thigpen, Analise Rose and Conner Evans; five great grandchildren; sister, Terri Barnard; nephews, Shane Barnard and Robert Wood; her girls, Tracy Mosley and Susan Johnson; the birthday girls; special friends, Rodney Mulling and Ron Uhlfelder and her neighbors whom she loved dearly.

The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00pm on Tuesday August 24, 2021 at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be conducted 10:00am Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with the Reverend David Lamm officiating.  Interment will follow in the Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Mulling, Ronnie Johnson, Shane Barnard, Jacob Kight, Conner Evans, and Thomas Collins IV.

Honorary pallbearers will be great grandsons, Jackson Cartrette, Carson Burkett, and Thomas Collins V.

Memorials may be given to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
