Glennville,
Julian V. Dasher, age 89, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton. He was born in Glennville on July 31, 1932, to Daniel James and Gladys Spivey Dasher and lived in Tattnall County all of his life. He answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army to serve in the Korean Conflict. Returning home to Tattnall County, Julian would begin his own farming operation. In addition to his work on his own farm, he would also work with Smithfield Foods and Gwaltney Foods (after Smithfield’s acquisition) for 18 years as their Livestock Market Manager. Certainly, a man with a great work ethic; nothing compared to the love he had for his family. Spending all the moments he could with them was precious to him. No matter if it was attending “events” that involved the grand or great grand kids or simply entertaining them around the house, he never missed an opportunity to show his love and support. Together with his wife, Louise, the pair would share many cross country and out of the country trips. Their favorite was last year’s trip to Yellowstone National Park. They also enjoyed “junkin”, but the best part of their days was the time they would simply sit, every afternoon, and watch the birds at the feeders. A true man’s man that knew the love of yard working, gardening, fishing and hunting but understood that nothing compared to family; he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Ulma Lee Anderson, Charles Dasher, and Eddie Dasher.
Left to cherish memories of a life well lived is his wife of 63 years, Louise G. Dasher of Glennville; sons and daughters in law, Kevin Dasher, Keith and Rhonda Dasher and Kerry and Bejay Dasher all of Glennville; brothers and sisters in law, Eugene and Barbara Dasher, Wayne and Julie Dasher, Margie Dasher and Mary Kate Dasher all of Glennville; sister, Linda Brannen of Glennville; grandchildren, Nicole (Eric) Downs, Ciara (Josh) Correa, Ryan (Leslie) Dasher and Lexi Dasher; great grandchildren, Ever Downs, Finn Dasher, Jewel Correa and Jett Correa; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 20, 2022, beginning at 9:30am with the funeral services to follow at 11:00am from the Chapel of the Glennville Funeral Home with Elder Tom Sollosi and Dr. Glen Dasher officiating. Interment will follow in the Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with honors rendered by the US Army.
Pallbearers will be Danny Anderson, Heath Dasher, Blake Dasher, Bobby Folsom, Shad Dasher, and Shane Brannen.
