June Cowart Clifton

Reidsville,

Ms. June Cowart Clifton, age 82, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, March 26, 2019.  The Reidsville native was born August 16, 1936 to George Lester and Mamie Hunt Cowart.  She never ventured far from her beloved hometown of Reidsville and subsequently lived most of her life there.  One of her greatest passions in life was caring for others.  This natural love and compassion for other people led to her career choice; a registered nurse.  Her work led her to serve at several of the local hospitals in the area, staff nurse for the Georgia Department of Corrections, and for a local home health care company.  After her retirement she found much more time to devote to a favored pastime, knitting and growing orchids.  Her attention to detail and love for learning led her to craft many creations for friends and family alike.   Outside the home, she loved going for long car rides.  The open road allowed her time to clear her thoughts and give a renewed energy.  Additionally, she was a member of Marvin United Methodist Church.  Ms. June is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Edward Cowart, Junior Cowart, and Jack Cowart; sisters, Ruth Tyson and Louise Spinato.

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Friday, March 29, 2019 at the funeral home with the graveside funeral service to follow at 3:00pm in the Clifton Family Cemetery with the Reverend Michael Kennedy officiating.
