Karen Rose Burns passed away Monday evening, November 2, 2020 at Magnolia Manor after an extensive battle with many health issues. Karen was a Tattnall County native and a local celebrity of Shellman’s Bluff. Of her many accolades, Karen was most known for the success of Speed’s Kitchen on the Bluff- Where you could find her mastering frying fish and stewing oysters. Karen could out fish most anyone, and we would like to think that is just what she is doing now. Karen was loved and loved too many to count and she will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edra and A. D. Burns of Glennville and her brother A. David Burns III.
She is survived by her sister Brenda Burns Perkins of Brunswick, her nieces Gina Patterson Peterson (Steve) and children Ellie and Mimi Peterson and Brigitte Burns Mckeown (John) and children Luckett, Lillie Frances and Burns all of St. Simons Island , Georgia.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Thursday November 5th at the Glennville City Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her parents and brother.
Memorials may be given to Tattnall C.A.R.E.S Post Office Box 2356 Reidsville, GA 30453.
