Kathy Leggett

Kathy Leggett, age 69, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024, in Claxton.  She was born in Claxton on May 7, 1955, to Belton Tony and Edna Ilene Harris Leggett and had lived in Evans County all of her life.  She was a receptionist working many years with Nesmith Chevrolet and Job Training Unlimited.  She had also worked part time at the Hagan Market. Kathy loved to do needle work, sewing, and cooking.  She was an avid pet lover taking in any stray animals and giving them a loving home.  She is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Sonya and Kelly Crosby of Claxton; her siblings, Robert C. (Opal) Wellmaker of Bloomingdale, Linda Sue VanHorn and Deloris (Keith) Lewis of Millen; her grandsons, Zachary and Jacob Crosby of Claxton; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, beginning at 1:00pm with the funeral services to follow at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with Reverend Liston Wainwright officiating.  Interment will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jason Stone, Donnie Crosby, Gavan Crosby, Zachary Crosby, Seth Anderson, Daniel Perez and Jacob Crosby.
