Katie Belle Jarriel , age 16 passed away Monday, May 24, 2010 at Evans Memorial Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. The Hazlehurst native had lived in Collins for the past seven years. She was a rising Junior at Pinewood Christian Academy. She was a member of the two time national championship cheerleading squad and was a member of the Cheer South All Star Team of Statesboro. She was a member of the One Act Play, the Honor Society and Rehoboth Missionary Baptist Church. Katie enjoyed singing, tumbling, water sports, horse back riding and hanging out with her friends.
She is survived by:
Her parents, Phil and Paula Jarriel of Collins
Sister, Kylie Ann Jarriel of Valdosta State University
Brother, Hensley Jarriel of Georgia Southern University
Grandparents, Bobby and Lucy Jarriel of Collins
Jackie Floyd Johnson of Hazlehurst
Several aunts, uncle, and cousins also survive.
Visitation will begin at 5:00pm Tuesday from Pinewood Christian Academy in Bellville.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Wednesday from the Rehoboth Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverends David Hagan and Tom Sollosi officiating. Interment will follow in the Collins Baptist Church Cemetery.
