Obituary

Mrs. Katie Kirkland , age 94, of Reidsville

went home to be with the Lord on Thursday,

October 7, 2010. Mrs. Kirkland was a native

of Waycross, GA but had lived in Reidsville for

approximately 50 years. She was a member

of Elza Baptist Church of Reidsville. She was

preceded in death by her husband, Mr. B.B.

Kirkland in August 1991, and three children,

Clifford, Richard and Sheila Kay Kirkland.

She is survived by two daughters, Katie Elizabeth

Johnson and Barbara Anne (John) McGarity both

of Lyons. Two sisters, Merle Lightsey and Earnestine

Lightsey both of South Carolina. Sister-in-law, Ms.

Mayvis Kirkland of Waycross. Thirteen grandchildren,

Mike (Kelly) Padgett, Kim (Ben) Sanders, Billy (Lisa)

Warren, Ben (Leann) Warren, Bobby (Rebecka) Warren,

Gene Kirkland, Art (Cynda) Kirkland, Tony Kirkland, Brad

Kirkland, Ricky Kirkland, Debra Kirkland, Brad Kirkland and

Sheila Kay (Keith) Perry. Twenty one great grandchildren,

twelve great great grandchildren, several nieces and

nephews also survive. She was loved by all who knew

her and will be greatly missed.

Funeral Service and Visitation

Visitation will begin at 6:00pm Friday, October 8, 2010 from the Reidsville Chapel.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Saturday, October 9, 2010 from the

Reidsville Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home with the Reverend Andrew

Nelms officiating. Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
