Reidsville GA
Daron Keith Kelley, age 54, passed away on March 24, 2020 at Community Hospice Inpatient Center in Vidalia GA. The Reidsville native graduated from Reidsville High School in 1983. Keith was a fixture of Reidsville and was one of the town’s most well-known citizens. Not only did everyone seem to know him, he knew most everyone too, and by name! He would always greet you with an uplifting comment and a warm goodbye. Not only was Keith a caring person one on one, he cared deeply about the youth of our community. In an effort to encourage and uplift the youth, Keith founded the Miss Confident Pageant. Hundreds of young ladies benefited from the emotional and financial support the pageant was able to offer. In addition, various other activities centered around Miss Confident was also held, including a basketball tournament. As an organizer at heart, Keith was also the driving force behind his family’s reunions. Truly Keith was a warm ray of sunshine in a world that can be so cold; he will be deeply missed by all those who were lucky enough to know him. He is preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt Everett, brother, Albert Benny Kelley, Jr., grandmother, Lucille Ellis Holland.
Left to celebrate a life well lived are his daughters from the many years of Miss Confident Pageants; mother, Mattie Mae Kelley; his four brothers, Calvin (Vernelle) Kelley, Sr., Richard (Barbara) Kelley, Theophus Kelley, and James (Zeboroha) Kelley; 4 sisters, Gloria Ann (Daniel) Wiggins, Mattie Ann (Laurent) Kelley-Debrossard, Mary Ann (Jessie) Kelley-Bush, and Barbara Ann Kelley; closest dear friends, Janice Collins, Diane Mincey-Small, Alicia Butler, and Tara Martin; a host of other extended relatives and friends also survive.
