Savannah
Kenneth John Jones, 67, of Savannah, GA, passed away Sunday evening, January 10 2021, due to injuries sustained from an auto accident which occurred in April 2011. “Kenny” fought to recover for nearly ten years and is now at rest with our Lord in heaven.
Born in Lancaster Ca, raised on the “Space Coast” of Florida, Kenny loved recreational flying, sailing and surfing. In addition to the gift of humorous and witty story telling, he was a natural teacher, patiently able to explain anything to anyone willing to learn.
After serving 22 years in the US Air Force, Kenny worked for many years as an independent building contractor throughout the southeast. His passion for building restorations led him to many projects for historical structures in Savannah and surrounding areas. In this work, as in life, Kenny was creative and resourceful; ever proud of efficient, practical solutions to perceived impossible challenges.
Surviving are his mother Helen Jones of Fernandina Beach FL; daughter, Jessica Jones Renfroe of Richmond Hill GA; son Zachariah Jones of Columbia SC; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three sisters; one brother; many cousins; and many, many friends. Private funeral Mass scheduled for Saturday January 23 in Savannah, Ga
