Lacy Adger Peavey, 68, of Scotland, GA, passed away peacefully at his home on December 9, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. A lifelong resident of Telfair County, Adger was deeply rooted in his community and cherished by all who knew him. He was born on October 11, 1956, to the late Charles Horace and Patricia A. (Brown) Peavey, Adger grew up with a love for the simple joys of life. He was a devoted father, proud grandfather, and great-grandfather who always spoke fondly of "his babies."
Adger was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in fishing and the thrill of wild hog hunting. His adventurous spirit and love for nature were matched only by the love he showed to his family and friends. Those who knew him remember his kind heart, sense of humor, and the countless cherished memories he created with those he held dear. Adger’s life was a testament to love, family, and the joys of living simply but fully. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Horace and Patricia A. (Brown) Peavey.
Left to celebrate his legacy are his beloved wife, Julie Singletary of McRae; three sons, Jason Peavey and Landon Horace Peavey, both of McRae and Nicholas Grimes of Alamo; two daughters, Amanda Peavey of Hazlehurst and Attie Peavey of McRae; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his brother, Andy Peavey of Vidalia; and three sisters, Regina Ashley of McRae, Sherry (Donell) Kates of Alamo, and Charlene Jones of Lyons. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a multitude of friends who were blessed to know him.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Church of Greater Vision, 951 S Union Church Road Alamo GA. Pastor Troy Maddox and Pastor Julie Singletary officiating with special remarks from his sister, Sherry Kates. Memorial begins at 11:00 a.m. and the family will host a meal of fellowship following the service.
