Obituary

Larry Edgar Jones Sr., age 71, of Metter passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Bethany Home Nursing Center.  He was a native of Savannah and lived in Pulaski and Metter most of his life. He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church in Claxton. Larry was employed as a LPN with T&B Nursing Home for most of his professional career. In his retirement, he and his wife Ann moved to Metter. In September 2011, he moved  to Bethany Home Nursing Center due to an extended illness.  His final months were spent under the loving care of the staff at Bethany Home Nursing Center and United Hospice. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Mary Jones and 2 of his daughters, Loretta Jones and Lydia LeRose Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Jones of Millen;  sons, Ronnie (Debra) Jones of Rincon, Eddie (Tane ) Jones of Hagan, Andy (Bonnie) Jones of Atlanta;  daughters, Lisa (Eric) Strickland of Reidsville, Rhonda (Randy) Bennett of Metter; sister, Denia (Henry) Tuten of Savannah;  he is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral Services

Graveside Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 P.M.,  Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Douglas Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, 116 Douglas Branch Rd., Rocky Ford, GA.

Preferred Memorials and Donations

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital.
