Larry Wane Sheley, Sr.

Low Country Cremation and Burial announces the passing and visitation for Mr. Larry Wane Sheley, Sr. age 81 of Collins that passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023 at his residence under the care of Community Hospice.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 15, 2023, from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial from the hours of 4:00pm to 6:00pm.

Larry Wane Sheley,Sr. was born on March 31, 1942, in Savannah to Lawrence Hamilton and Delma Esther Weaver Sheley.  He had lived in Chatham County many years moving to Collins in 2001.  Larry did construction work his entire career with a specialty in acoustic ceilings.  He was an avid Nascar fan. He enjoyed racing go carts and doing small engine repairs.  He is preceded in death by his parents,his wife, Carolyn Marie Bassett Sheley; his sons, Michael Scott, Wilson Wade, Larry Wane, Jr, and Richard Allen Sheley; siblings, Earl Sheley, Lawrence Hamilton Sheley and Linda Padgett.

He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer (Mike) Sheley Pierce of Reidsville and Esther (Tab) Sheley Wells of Brooklet; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
