Macon

Violet Laverne Jameson Rumpf Coart finally reveals age of almost 89 in passing May 1, 2014 in Macon, GA at Pine Pointe Hospice after extended illness. Laverne was born in Kansas City, KS hence her life-long love for the Chiefs. Later gaining a beloved stepsister, Rose Vardanian, she moved to California with her mother and stepfather. After high school she returned to Kansas to care for her grandmother, working as office manager for independent insurance agency. With husband, Paul Rumpf, she adored a beautiful home in Independence,MO they built and travels to Europe and home in Germany where they lived until Paul’s too-early passing. Husband, Bill Coart brought her to the South where she has lived since, leaving only to enjoy Siesta Key, FL condo several months of most years, convinced it was the best beach on planet. Laverne’s personality filled up any room and her generosity to all overflowed it. She loved tennis and gardening and shopping and shopping and shopping. She had a decorator’s eye for the house and designer’s eye for clothes. Her cooking and entertaining were legendary, over the top delicious and fun.
She is survived by friends and family in far-flung corners of the world including Rose Vardanian, stepsister in Los Angeles, CA, Addie Jameson, sister-in-law, Palm Springs, CA, Sue and Rich Liptak, friends, Kansas City, KS, god daughter, Cathy Liptak Schreiner, husband Patrick and beautiful daughters, Morgan and Brooklyn, longtime Macon friends, Melba and Curtis Mason, Bayne Mallory, longtime aide and friend, Martha Durden, longtime advisor and friend, Sam Pearson who brought her last meal of Hershey chocolate, Rivoli friends, including Pankey and Tee Kite and her long-time “soul sister”, Tillie Miller who lived with her and extended Miller family who came to know her as another grandmother or Aunt Laverne. She also leaves behind Muffin, her Sheltie, last in line of many Shelties she had over the years.

Laverne’s wishes were to have her ashes scattered at Siesta Key.
