Tattnall County,
Lawanna James, age 63, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at Memorial Health Medical University Center surrounded by her family. She was born in Lyons on December 16, 1954 to Harold and Ann Strickland James. Lawanna had lived in Tattnall County most of her life moving to Jesup six years ago. She had worked as a seamstress with Toombs Manufacturing, a florist with Pine Forest Nursery in Glennville, and in recently years she was a homemaker. She loved to go dancing, to the beach, shopping, and mostly spending time with her grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Carlos Lamar James.
She is survived by her children, Steven (Heather) James, Anthony (Mindy) James all of Reidsville and Niki (Tommy Lee)Anderson of Jesup; siblings, Adel (Tony) Oliver of Collins and Johnny (Melanie Green) James of Lyons; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a nephew, Cody James.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday from the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Tuesday, January 9, 2017 from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with the Reverend Andrew Nelms officiating. Interment will follow.
