LCpl. Jonathan Mallory Hawkins passed away on December 3, 2017 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident while stationed in New Bern, NC. The Dublin native lived in Collins for most of his life, and attended Tattnall County Schools. In 2016, he graduated from Tattnall County High School. From an early age Jonathan had a strong desire to serve his county and therefore, immediately following high school he joined the United States Marine Corps. He became a Marine in 2016 and attained the rank of Lance Corporal. In his free time; he loved to go fishing and he attended Cobbtown Baptist Church. LCpl. Jonathan Hawkins was a hero taken from us way too soon.
Left to cherish his memories and accomplishments are his parents, Kim and Joshua Eason of Collins; siblings, Austin Willis of Cedar Crossing, Haley McDaniel of Collins, Jayda Eason of Collins, and Illyana Eason of Treutlen County; grandparents, Connie Paul of Soperton, Scarlett (Mark) Cartwright of Midway; great-grandmother, Eula Mae Scott of Collins; nephew, Luke Willis of Savannah; and many friends also survive.
The family will recieve friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Monday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 11:30am Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with the Reverend Raymond Trent officiating. Interment will follow in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville with full Military Honors.
