Vidalia
Lester “Bud” Alley, 83 passed away peacefully on January 30, 2020 at his residence in Vidalia, GA. Bud served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, where he was honorably discharged on December 31, 1964. He was a native of Beals Island, Maine, where he lived and worked for many years. Some of his jobs included lobster fishing, clamming, working on a sardine carrier, running the clam shop with Pinto, working at the lobster pound and many other jobs. Bud certainly was a man of different hats, could tell many stories and cut up a prank or two. Bud enjoyed spending time at Schoodic Lake, whether it be in the summer or winter. Some of his fondest memories were when he and Mum were in the bowling league in Machias. Bud enjoyed watching the boat races and talked numerous times of being in them with Archie Jr. and the Big Bad Wolf. He also enjoyed watching the fireworks. Bud enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren and grandpuppies. The puppies meant the world to him, as there wasn’t a day went by that he wouldn’t say his good mornings and good nights. His other favorite pastime was listening to Rush Limbaugh and Clark Howard on the radio. Bud was predeceased by his loving wife, Velma “PeeWee” Alley, his mother, Lurline Beal, his father, Joshua Lawrence Alley, his sister, Mamie Colacci and his brother, Charles “Eddie” Marcoux. He is survived by his son, Janssen Alley and wife Luann of Vidalia, GA, two grandsons; Matthew Alley and Michelle Malcolm of Addison, and Mitchell Alley and Heather Burcham of Vidalia, GA. He is also survived by his brother Harry “Twink” Alley of Beals, and friend Aloma Alley of Jonesport, Janice and husband Greg Emerson of Jonesport, and Connie Holland and friend Dorough Taylor of Beals, his sister Martha Alberta Rose and husband Allan Bell Sr. of Cherryfield, Dorea and husband Fred Leighton of Steuben, Charlene Nelson of Jonesport, Cindy and husband Jimmy Wallace of Milbridge, Myron and wife Sarah Alley of Steuben, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends Dana Lamson, Erma Chandler and Stevie Carver, all of Jonesport.
