Linda Diane Ford Strickland passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Hospice Savannah. She was born April 3, 1941 in Rocky Mount, N.C. She was a loving and devoted wife, sister and friend to so many who really loved her. Her warm and generous spirit was truly special and she will be missed by all, especially the Crafty Ladies Group at the First Southern Methodist Church and her beauty shop friends at Images.She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Mamie Bullock Ford; son, James Lamar “Little Jay” Luker; brother, William Eugene ”Bill” Ford, died in WWll; sister, Frances Ford Henderson.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph Wayne Strickland; son, Gary Allen (Barbara) Luker of Champaign, IL; daughter, Lynn "Susie" (Jimmy) Rahn of Savannah;sisters, Sarah Ford Oetgen of Savannah and Marguerite Ford (Billy) Arnett of Lake View, S.C; Also surviving are several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 P.M., Sunday, November 30,2014 at the First Southern Methodist Church on Montgomery Cross Road in Savannah.
