Glennville,
Sister Linda Durrence Thompson, age 61, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2020 at East Georgia Medical Center in Statesboro. She was born and reared in Savannah living most of her adult life in Glennville. Sister Linda was a homemaker and her favorite pastime was spending time with her granddaughter, Kaydance. She was a member of the Glennville United Pentecostal Church and was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Houston “Mutt” Durrence and Mozelle Letitia Harn.
She is survived by her husband, Carter Thompson of Glennville; son, Jeremy Bacon of Florida; daughter, Sarah Lynn Collins of Glennville; step mother, Dorothy “Dot” Durrence of Glennville; siblings, Cindy Counts, Sandra Brooks, John (DeeDee) Durrence, and Jess Durrence all of Glennville, and Mike (Johnna) Vertrees of Kentucky; granddaughter, Kaydance Cervantes of Glennville; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends beginning at 4:00pm on Monday, February 17, 2020 at the Glennville United Pentecostal Church with the funeral services following at 6:00pm with the Reverend James Holland officiating.
