Reidsville

Reidsville,

Livingston Adolphus “Big Jo” Hackett, age 74 died at his residence on May 25, 2020.  He was born November 23, 1945 in Barbados, Caribbean Islands.  He had three daughters, two grandsons, one granddaughter, one brother, an aunt and many other relatives who preceded him in death.

After moving to the United States, he was a resident for many years in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. In Ft. Lauderdale he had two daughters, one son, stepdaughter and a stepson.  He had 2 grandchildren. He moved to Tamarac, Florida and then to Pompano Florida.  He attended the Full Gospel Church with his pastor T. Wayne Parks.  He was a pillar in the church and lived a life of service to others.  He had a thriving stucco business and was an on-site property manager.  He moved to Reidsville and was a faithful member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Glennville with Pastor James Holland and Bradley Pickren, as Assistant Pastor. He was a wonderful man of God.  He loved his family and was always there to help anyone who needed help.  As a very dedicated volunteer with the Food Pantry Ministry, he worked tirelessly to help meet the needs of this community.  In January 2019, he was Volunteer of the Month.

He leaves behind 8 children and 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, both in the US and abroad.  He also leaves behind some good friends, Connie & Curtis Collins, Joyce Nelson and Josh from Ft. Lauderdale.  He has left a hole in our hearts and will be greatly missed.

He longed to be with the Lord and has reached his goal.  And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, and neither shall there be anymore pain.  Revelations 21:4.
