Meldrim
Lonnie Franklin Wilds, age 84 passed away Monday, April 27, 2015 at Glenvue Health and Rehabilitation from an extended illness. He was a native of Tattnall County living in Meldrim most of his life. He attended and was a former Deacon at Meldrim Baptist Church. Lonnie was a US Army veteran serving in the Korean War. An avid hunter and fisherman, he loved his children, grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with his dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Doy Wilds.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Clarice Kicklighter Wilds of Meldrim; sons, Franklin (Kathy) Wilds of Brooklet, Bruce (Catherine) Wilds of Midway; daughter, Darlene (Steve) Smith of Eden; grandchildren, Katrina Smith, William Wilds, Jr., Stacy Anne Gooding, Steven Smith; great-grandchildren, Tanner Cobb, Colt Wilds, Payton Gooding, Dalton Gooding, Paisley Gooding; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Meldrim Baptist Church with funeral services to follow at 12:00P.M. with the Reverend Keith McLeod and Reverend Dan Bryant officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be William Wilds, Steven Smith, Steve Smith, Mark Gooding, Tanner Cobb and Rudy Mesorio
Low Country Cremation Services and Burial is serving the Wilds family.
