Reidsville,
Mr. Louis R. Cowart, age 71, passed away Friday May 4, 2012 at his residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Tattnall County native had lived in Reidsville all of his life. He was the owner and operator of Cowart’s Texaco Service Station and served the past 12 years with the Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office, serving the latter part as the Chief Jailer. He enjoyed fishing and raising his bulldogs, but mostly loved being with his family. Mr. Cowart attended Reidsville Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents, Warnell and Mildred Cowart and a son, Brandon Cowart.
He is survived by;
His wife, 53yrs., Mrs. Barbara Stephens Cowart of Reidsville
Sons and daughters-in-law, Louis, Jr. and Michelle Cowart of Cobbtown
Derrick and Melissa Cowart of Savannah
Six grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.
Visitation will begin from 6 to 8pm on Saturday May 5, 2012 from the Reidsville Chapel.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Sunday May 6, 2012 from the Reidsville Baptist Church with the Reverend Steve Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Quinton Rush, Raymond Bradley, Jamie Smiley, Jason Howell, Paul Adams, and Kyle Sapp
Honorary Pallbearers will be Reidsville High School Class of 1958, Employees of the Tattnall County Sheriff’s Department and all Law Enforcement.
