Lucille Jackson

Lucille Sims Jackson, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Community Hospice in Vidalia after a short illness.  The lifelong resident of Collins worked for many years in food service management where her outgoing personality made her guests and staff alike feel welcomed and appreciated.  Ms. Jackson was a devout member of The Place of Grace Outreach Ministry and served her Lord and Savior there.  In her free time, she could often be found pampering herself!  The family has remarked that “she was shopping at home before shopping at home was cool”.  Indeed, she was a “girlie-girl” and often times her preferred clothes or shoes could not be found locally and she would shop multiple catalogs to get just the right look.  Whether it was shopping or treating herself to a manicure or pedicure; she would always be dressed to the 9’s and with a smile on her face.  Her fun loving and outgoing nature will be dearly missed.  She is preceded in death by her mother, Lucy Mae Sellars; three brothers, Tony L. Sellars, Melvin Sellars, and Lucious Murchison; and a great grandchild, Heaven Lavon Grier.

Left to celebrate a lifetime of memories together are her life partner of over 42 years, Willie Favors of Metter; son, Curtis (Kathy) Sims of Twin City; Bonus Daughter, Angela Pittman of Tifton; two sisters, Carolyn (William) Rock and Emma Jean (Kelley) Vann; four grandchildren, Felicia Sims, Nicole Pittman, Michael Jones, and Denzel Jones; two great grandchildren, Janya Sims and Corderra Grier, Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive.

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, June 27, 2021 beginning at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the chapel of Low Country Cremation & Burial in Reidsville.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Monday, June 28, 2021 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of Low Country Cremation & Burial with the Rev. William Rock presiding.

Interment will follow in Cone Cemetery.
