Lymen Suiter, 87, died peacefully after a short illness on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Brookdale Senior Living on Hilton Head, SC. Lymen was born on February 11, 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he lived most of his life. He graduated from Sunbury High School, in Sunbury, Pennsylvania in 1947. Following high school, he served as a soldier in the U.S. Army. He was a successful businessman and only recently retired. He was the son of the late Lymen and Helen Suiter. He was married to his high school sweetheart, the late Shirley (Eister) Suiter for fifty years.
Surviving him are his daughter, Christi Martin, of Savannah, Georgia and his daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Richard Patterson of Hilton Head, SC. He had one sister, the late Dorothy Lamb of Piscataway, NJ and one brother, James Suiter, of Lake Oswego, Oregon. He is also survived by his loving friend, Liz Sartori of Wexford, Pennsylvania, in-laws Henry and Louise Witman of Northfield, Minnesota and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Lymen was a lifetime member of the Ingomar Volunteer Fire Dept. in Ingomar, Pennsylvania and a member of the Ingomar United Methodist Church. He loved football! He was a passionate fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and attended every North Allegheny High School football game for years. He was kind to everyone, the life of the party, and a charmer with a unique sense of humor. His family and his many friends will miss him greatly.
At Lymen's request, no memorial service will be held.
