Malcolm Daniel McRae

June 16, 1953 – September 14, 2022

Malcom Daniel McRae is the seventh child of the late Milbern Moses McRae and Thelma Elizabeth Gillis McRae born in Ailey Georgia on June  16, 1953. Malcolm served for nearly 14 years in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. Malcolm graduated with an Associate in Electrical Work from Southeastern Tech, Vidalia Georgia. Malcolm ran his own Electrical and Plumbing Company, where he passed on his father’s legacy to many men who desired to provide for their families. Preceding him in death his brother, the later Milbern Moses McRae III, and a sister Raynita Isabelle Smith.

Malcolm was a life-long member of Nepsey Warren United Methodist Church before moving to Atlanta and joining County Line United Methodist Church before becoming a founding Member of Exousia Lighthouse Christian Ministries where he was consecrated as the Chief Deacon along with his beloved wife Veronica. Together the two were an integral part of building a world class ministry with a global impact changing the lives of people who were tired of church as usual and desired a deeper relationship with God. Mike singlehandedly empowered a generation of men in ministry with his incredibly loving heart lifting men, who like him, had struggled in living out their best life. He loved them, he lifted them, he taught them, he hired them to work with his company, he fed them, he clothed them and he even housed many of them while always showing them how to worship God, not just in words but in good deeds also. Malcolm Daniel McRae was a veritable giant in the Kingdom of Heaven, he was a submitted follower of Christ in earth, and he was a dedicated leader in the household of faith. He was a faithful evangelist and would lead outreach teams to flop hotels to feed the residents, or to homeless shelters where he served hundreds of hungry families and he did it all with grace and understanding and love. Even as his health began declining Mike maintained his hilarious sense of humor and could regale you with side-splitting anecdotes and stories for hours. His declining health did not prevent him from serving on the Executive Team of Exousia Lighthouse International Ministries, a place that he simply loved and where he came into the knowledge of God. He served until his passing!

He leaves to cherish his dedicated, loving and loyal wife, Veronica McRae of 36 of years. Together they nurtured their children: the late Nicole Fronnie McRae,  Malcolm Daniel McRae Jr (Chaka Keona), Travis Telfair (Areesha), Gregory LaShaun Bacon (Kimberly), Brandon LaSel Bacon and Eric McRae. “Unca Mike” as he was known by many is survived by 9 of 12 siblings, Marty Emmitt Robinson (Tracy), Mavis Alcarez Carter, Ernest L. McRae, Reverend Charles H. Clark (Kathy), Reverend Cleo Gilchrist, Alfred L. McRae (Patricia), Bishop Carl H. McRae (Brenda) Verdell V. McRae and Lydia B. McRae Harris (Andre’); One aunt, Pauline Douglas and an uncle, Van Mills. They have 21 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Left to mourn his passing is a large contingent of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who simply adored their “Unca Mike”.
