Marcus Mitchell Yeomans

Mr. Marcus Mitchell Yeomans, age 90, passed away Monday, June 14, 2021, at Meadows Park Health and Rehab in Vidalia.  The lifelong resident of Tattnall County was an 18-wheeler truck driver for 54 years.  He was proud of the fact that during his time with Central Truck Line he earned safe driver award for 26 years straight.  He would also brag about the fact that he only got 1 speeding ticket in his lifetime.  He would laugh and say, it only cost me $17.00.  He also loved to grow and sell vegetables alongside the love of his life for 63 1/2years, Gloria.  He will be remembered for his strong spirit to live life to the fullest.

He was a member of the Reidsville Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness for many years.

Mr. Yeomans is survived by his children, Calvin Mitchell Yeomans of Reidsville, Patricia Lee “Patty” (Bud) Jernigan of Andersonville, Ga., and Karen Amy (Dean) McLeod of Reidsville, 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Private family graveside service will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at Stoney Hill Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
