Margaret "Gail" Salter Dinkins, age 69 a lifelong resident of Glennville passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 11, 1954 to Johnnie and Margaret Wilds Salter. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Gail's love for nature was evident in her favorite hobbies. She took immense pleasure in fishing and spent countless peaceful hours by the water, reeling in her catches. Additionally, Gail had a green thumb and delighted in nurturing her beautiful flowers. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Bobby Hugh Salter, Reggie Salter, and Linda Sue Blocker.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Danny L. Dinkins Sr. of Glennville; children, Danny L. (Lindsey) Dinkins Jr., of Donald Community, and Mandy Dinkins (Craig Burkhalter) of Glennville; brother, Ricky Salter (John Tidwell) of Statesboro; grandchildren, Taylor (William) Hodges of Glennville, Shelton Harold and Kindle Howard of the Donald Community; great grandchildren, Lane Tomlinson and Kinslee Hodges; several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Family will receive friends beginning at 2:00pm on Sunday, January 28, 2024 with funeral services to follow at 3:00pm from the Chapel of Glennville Funeral Home with the Reverends Bryan Anderson and Jerry Knight officiating. Interment will be in the Glennville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Edward Toler, Todd Oliver, Jacob Oliver, Mark Goodrich, Darrell Ballance, and Charles Moody.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude’s Children Hospital
